Since 1986, Dr. Garth Brice has been providing his patients with exceptional, comprehensive orthodontic care. Highly educated, he obtained his Bachelor's degree with Honours from the University of Queensland and his Orthodontic Master's Degree from Adelaide University in South Australia. He spent 20 years as a Dental Officer in the Royal Australian Navy and retired as a Captain and as the Director of Naval Dental Services before moving into private practice here in Canberra. He and his family have lived in Canberra since 1992.
Dr. Brice feels it is important to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontics. Thus, he maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations, such as the Australian Society of Orthodontists. In 1998 he coordinated the Scientific programme for the Australain Orthodontic Congress in Canberra. He is also a member of the Australian Begg Orthodontic Society, (including past Treasurer and Scientific Coordinator), the Australian Dental Association and the ACT Dental Study Group.
When not in the office, Dr. Brice volunteers as the head of the ACT Community Fire Unit having been instrumental in its formation after the devastating fires of 2003. He has vast experience as an offshore yachtsman, having competed in round-the-world events, the Sydney-Hobart and Melbourne-Hobart races. He skippered a Navy yacht to win the 2000 Melbourne-Hobart race on handicap. He is also a member of the Canberra Ocean Racing Yacht Club and in his spare time enjoys bushwalking and photography.
